The English Show’s Gabe Bullard has a new book out called «Against Convenience». The book looks at why labor-saving devices and apps have failed and offers some ideas for what to do about it. It covers design, psychology, art, news, and more. This is no manifesto or screed.

Bullard understands that so many modern conveniences are a routine part of life – they’re the infrastructure behind our daily routines. The book doesn’t ask that we reject things that make our lives easier, it asks why these things don’t work the way they’re supposed to, and imagines how they could be better. Listen to our interview with Gabe here.

Elliot Frueh from Galerie Sechs joined us to talk about two exhibitions: «The Mind Is Not a Machine», which is running until October 2, and «Unbound Bodies», running from October 9 to 30. The shows are in a new location for Galerie Sechs, and Frueh also tells us about the revamped space. Listen to the interview here.
